CMG Worldwide Welcomes You to the Official Website of Buck Buchanan
Biography
The prototype for the tall, speedy defensive tackles in the game today, Buck Buchanan was the defensive anchor on a Kansas City Chiefs team that was a dominant force in football during the late ‘60s and early ‘70s and the winner of Super Bowl IV.
A six-time all-pro, Buchanan combined strength, quickness, and durability to make his 6-foot-7, 274 pound frame even more imposing for opponents. Over a 13-year stretch from 1963 to 1975, Buchanan played in an incredible 181 out of 182 games.
The first player picked in the 1963 AFL draft, Buchanan played his entire career for the Chiefs, retiring in 1977. He was elected to Pro Football’s Hall of Fame in 1990.
