I LOVE NEW YORK

About

Originally created by Milton Glaser under the direction of an advertising agency in 1977, the I LOVE NEW YORK logo's purpose was to promote tourism to New York State. Since its launch, the logo now represents tourism to the State's 11 vacation regions, New Yorkers' affinity for their home state, branding opportunities for endless merchandise and advertising campaigns, and is one of the most recognized logos of modern day.

Its simple message has gained worldwide appreciation and exposure, and has been subject to many copied designs. The fact remains that Milton Glaser's original sketch on a napkin will continue to be a recognizable design indefinitely.
